Right wing Christian says straight people don’t have oral sex or do butt stuff

Oh boy. Is there anything more entertaining than reading the things hardcore rightwing Christians have to say about sex?

I mean, I guess there could be. You could repeatedly stub your toe, stick a q-tip too far into your ear, or give yourself a papercut. Those are all probably better than reading the things right wring Christians like Linda Harvey have to say about sex.

In her most recent post, entitled Kids Tutored in “Pleasure” Despite STD Epidemic, Harvey takes on comprehensive sex education. You know, the thing that is not only intellectually honest to teach, but also treats young adults like… actual young adults? Yeah, that thing.

A whole 100 shares. Amazing.

Comprehensive sex education teaches teens how to engage in safe sex. And it’s important, because research shows that teens are going to engage in sexual activity regardless if you tell them to or not. So why wouldn’t you want them to know how to do so safely?

The answer to that question, according to Harvey, is the gays.

Seriously.

Somehow, and don’t ask me how because I have no idea, it has to do with the “radical pro-homosexual” agenda. Because what could possibly be worse than people being happy being attracted to whomever they please?

Harvey cites increasing STI rates in her post:

> The Centers for Disease Control recently reported on the explosion of sexually transmitted infections: chlamydia—a record 1.7 million cases in 2017, 45% among youth. Gonorrhea –up 67%. Syphilis has risen 76%, and is especially high among young homosexual males.

What?!

Is this the 80s? The fear mongering and homophobia continues:

> So think of the incongruity of middle schoolers (ages 11-13) trapped in progressive, x-rated sex ed classes, who dutifully learn there is no need for sexual self-restraint. As a result, many begin early to experiment with practices that mar their healthy young bodies, sometimes for life. This crucial fact is withheld or minimized as our precious kids are encouraged to engage “safely” in anal, oral and vaginal sex at younger and younger ages.

Maybe things have changed since I was a kid, but I don’t recall ever being encouraged to have sex. What I do recall is an emphasis on the risks that come with engaging in sexual intercourse, and the responsibility that comes with being a parent. And statements like this from Harvey illustrate the actual goal of failing to teach kids about their maturing bodies:

> If an abortion doesn’t break a girl’s heart, infertility from chlamydia will.  But these teens will be thirty years old before they see the rotten “fruit” of STD-induced infertility.

The ultimate goal of any Christian conservative activist is to make more followers. So, of course, the worst thing imaginable to them is for a woman to fail to pop out a kid or two herself. Because how will we keep the lie that is Christianity spread around if we don’t have more sheep to add to the flock?

After all, if people are actually informed about their bodies, can you imagine the horror that could result? People could make the decision to – or not to – have kids on their own accord! Wow.

But wait, there’s more. Of course we have to incorporate transphobia into the equation. Because what’s a healthy dose of homophobia without transphobia?

> And let’s not forget the deadly contribution of “LGBTQ” advocates who demand “inclusive” sex ed —i.e., lessons that outline in detail how kids can engage in anal and oral sex, the sex practices of homosexuals. These lessons often encourage masturbation and pornography use.

I mean, it’s not not true. I’m sure there are many homosexual couples who engage in oral and anal sex on the reg. But I know for a fact that there are many straight couples who do the same, too.

Ahem.

But heaven forbid kids engage in self-pleasure that harms no one at all, and watch consenting adults engage in sexual contact. It would be a shame if there was an entire industry behind this.

Shameless plug: my good friends Alice and Yvette have their own podcast dedicated to reviewing porn: Two Girls One Mic: The Porncast

It must be absolutely miserable to have the mindset that Linda Harvey has.
